Citing Images

To cite an image, normally, you would cite it the same you would any other source, except you add the word Photo or Cartoon or Illustration or whatever after the title or description. Since you are likely to have 15 - 25 images for this project, I decided to keep things simple. To cite your images (online images), simply include image title or description, image type (photo, chart, graph, etc.), and web address.

For example,

"State's Shrinking Glaciers: Going . . . Going . . . Gone." Rainier Glacier Photos. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ABPub/zoom/html/2003334197.html.

OR

Carbon Emissions. Graph. http://carbon.emissions.web.address.

If you got your photo, cartoon, chart, or what have you from a print article, you will need to cite the source, date, and page number as well--just enough information that someone interested could locate it for themselves.

If you create your own graph or chart or illustration, you do not need to cite it on the Power Point, though be sure that you credit the source of your numerical information, if necessary, in your written report.
